“One audience member described it as ‘the sweetest music I’ve heard in years’
Another insight into the work Dr Ó hAllmhuráin has done promoting Irish Traditional Music abroad.
His scholarly approach, combined with his deep traditional background, illustrates the huge international impact he has made.”

Irish traditional music, song, dance and language
Celtic Crossings has represented Irish academics and traditional musicians since 1995. For over twenty years, we have promoted Irish cultural heritage through public lectures and workshops, concerts, CDs, documentaries, books and more. We have been happy to work with dynamic Comhaltas chapters from the Pacific to the Atlantic. We are now booking 2017/18 speaking engagements for various historians and authors.
A Pocket History of Irish Traditional Music (O’Brien Press, Dublin, 1998– 3rd editions, Kindle)
Gearóid’s handy pocketbook became a top seller both in print and e-form and remains a “must have” among Irish music enthusiasts. His forthcoming A Short History of Irish Traditional Music (O’Brien Press, Dublin, 1998) will be featured early summer 2017 in O’Brien Press’ Short Histories series.
